The FBI's files on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. tell more about
government intrigue than they do about his assassination
and his work, according to the King Institute at Stanford
University, the King family and biographer Jonathan Eig.
The government illegally wiretapped Dr. King's phones
and bugged his hotel rooms when he traveled, because
of King's association with suspected members of the
