In 2025, we’re expanding opportunities for Chicago's unhoused, strengthening our community hub, and growing our media presence to amplify underrepresented voices across Chicago and expand local news coverage. With new investment, including support from Press Forward, StreetWise is poised to elevate storytelling, deepen vendor leadership, and open new pathways to economic stability.
As the nonprofit sector evolves, StreetWise is realigning around our core mission of providing a hand up—not a handout. While we transition to independent governance with fiscal sponsorship from the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, our shared goal remains the same: ensuring equitable access to opportunity and dignity for all.
